A country where time is measured in flavors

In Colombia, food is more than fuel — it’s identity, culture, and joy.
Every moment of the day has its own dish, and each one tells a story that travels from the mountains of Antioquia to the Caribbean coast.

At Homlunch, we believe the best way to experience Colombian gastronomy isn’t at a tourist restaurant, but at a local family’s table.

The 6 meals of the day in Colombia

  1. Breakfast (6:00 – 8:00 a.m.)
A paisa breakfast sets the tone: arepas with cheese, eggs, hot chocolate or coffee.
“A Colombian day doesn’t start without an arepa.” — Juanes

  2. Mid-morning (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.)
Empanadas, buñuelos or pandebonos paired with a strong black coffee (“tinto”).

  3. Lunch (12:30 – 2:00 p.m.)
The queen of Colombian meals: the bandeja paisa — rice, beans, ground beef, crispy chicharrón, fried egg, sweet plantain, and avocado. Originally from Antioquia, now loved across the nation.

  4. Onces (4:00 – 5:00 p.m.)
A beloved tradition: bread with butter, café con leche or hot chocolate, sometimes with small tamales or arepuelas.

  5. Dinner (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.)
Lighter meals: ajiaco soup, sancocho, or simply arepas with cheese — depending on the region.

  6. Recalentado (next day)
Leftovers from yesterday’s lunch become another feast — especially bandeja paisa or sancocho.

What Homlunch brings to the table

Homlunch isn’t delivery.
Homlunch isn’t fast food.

It’s about sitting at someone else’s table and tasting their way of living, sharing, and cooking.
A paisa breakfast at home tastes different because it comes with history, family, and tradition.
